Motorists are paying less at the pumps in New Jersey. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline was $2.73 in the Garden State on Friday, a 5-cent drop from a week ago. A year ago, motorists were paying $2.25. The national average price also fell this week, dropping by 7 cents to $2.81. The national average a year ago was $2.24. AAA spokeswoman Tracy Noble said the falling prices are “welcome news” for drivers planning to travel during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The auto group estimates that about 28 million Americans will us their vehicles to reach their holiday destinations. AP
