Because if you live in Lakewood you must know. This is the place to be
If we have such money, if it would better be expended on institutions to teach Torah to children where it wouldn’t cost so much money to register a child, it would be be money that’s better spent. Today it’s expensive. If we had more money, we could make it almost free! And then we could bring in many more children into the Torah world. That’s the biggest achievement!
It’s a pity! The millions that go for other things, when it should go for chinuch, for yeshivas, for gemilut chasadim, is money misspent. I’m not saying that if you have so much money that you can afford to do both but to just consider the difference in benefit.
And therefore, whatever you’ll say about that, there’s no question that the funds that are being utilized for this “entertainment” could certainly bring much more beneficial results if they were given to the Torah institutions.
Paraphrased from Rav Avigdor Miller, Z’TZ’L
You can say that about anything. Perhaps the Rabbonim should issue a Kol Korei that spending money on vacations or entertainment is Assur & the cost must be given to the Yeshivas.
I remember that tape. It was from 20 years ago. Who are we and where are we heading?
Anyone who is attending such events/ vacations better be paid up in tuition!!!
