Multiple Vehicles Vandalized in Raintree

vandalism county lineMultiple vehicles were vandalized in the Raintree area of Lakewood over Shabbos, TLS has learned.

Residents say the vehicles were parked outside  Rabbi Witty’s Shul on Alvarado when they had their windows shattered.

Nothing appears to have been stolen from the vehicles.

The incidents appear similar to those that occurred at the Vialapol Shul just minutes away in recent days.

Police are taking reports.

  1. If it was cars vandalized outside of a church or other non Jewish site would the police be doing more?!
It just shows that we can only rely on Hashem in these trying times!

  2. Let’s go, lakewoods finest, let’s see what you can do. Seems the crime has been up significantly , quality of life crimes and others. Chief Lawson is an awesome guy but I would like if the LPD would express to the public what their plan is to combat this crime wave

  3. perhaps it’s time for a patrol system in lakewood, or at least in the areas affected. Maybe Lcsw can help set one up and Lakewood can be proactive.

  4. I think Lakewood shuls need a police officer stationed outside of each shul during davening times. They have that arrangement in Brooklyn (thanks to people like Chaim deutch and Dov hikind). These thugs would think twice before smashing windows if there was more security.

  5. To hishtadlus, NYC has an entire army of police officers avail to put a few at places of warship. Lakewood has about as many shuls & schools as officers! If you’re ready to subsidize hiring 100 new police officers then it’s a good idea. Otherwise, let the Shul install a camera system just as our Shul did.
