Multiple Vehicles Burglarized Over Shabbos

At least a dozen vehicles were burglarized and ransacked over Shabbos, TLS has learned. The incidents all occurred in the same MLK area. One of the vehicles was reportedly rolled down the block, and was ticketed for beingparked in middle of the road.

Most – and possibly all – of the vehicles were left unlocked.

Police are investigating. TLS.

  1. Tired of these stories.
keep on leaving your car unlocked, keep on leaving your homes unlocked.
    tired of these stories.
    ZZZzzz………,

  2. I did not realize this was going to be a humor post until I read the second-to-last sentence. I always chuckle when i read that inevitible part of a story about car burglary.

  3. Don’t u think that when a cop sees a car in middle of the road he should first investigate why its there before giving it a ticket?

  4. #6 the reason people leav their car unlocked myself included is because they don’t want their windows smashed just to have the thief see there’s nothing to steal

  5. I cant believe it!! I left my car unlocked with the keys in the ignition, a big sign on it reading please steal me, a ipad on the seat and a wad of hundreds too and someone actually stole them all!! I’m so mad! where is the LPD??? I’m just shocked! what a crazy town we live in!

  6. The PD is patrolling but you can’t be everywhere at once. Its not their job to make sure your doors are locked and people don’t leave their GPS in plain view. You have to take the first steps..and if the pd is busy you might not see any patrols for a little while. We do have a whole town to protect..not just one neighborhood

  7. #13 Fool !!! There are more chances they wont break the window if the car is locked. As you see not one window was smashed.

  8. @ #13
Then don’t whine and complain when your car gets “broken” into. That’s not a break in, that”s called a INVITATION!

  9. Shall we give the houses away for free in that neighborhood because people leave their vehicles unlocked and everyone knows it. Easy way to get that nice navigation unit on display in plain view. I’ve locked my cars doors every since I owned a car and lived in Lakewood my whole life. Take a wild guess on how many times my windows were smashed or car burglarized…….. None. Use common sense and we won’t read these ridiculous stories every week about 40 unlocked vehicles being “burglarized”

  10. It never ceases to amaze me as to how many naive people there are. Not everybody is law abiding & it seems that people are giving others an open invitation to help themselves to whatever they want. People must learn to think about safety & not rely only in H-shem to protect them & their property. G-D helps those who help themselves. It’s simple common sense.
