NIFTAR not nifteres
“who was Nifteres today” is not grammatically correct. It should be “who was Nifterah today” not Nifteres. (She is a Nifteres that was Nifterah).
Ok so they made a mistake with their grammer. No big deal. Now let’s move on having respect for this woman who passed.
actually nifteres is also a verb in the present tense – however when u say was nifteres u are saying past tense & it should be nifterah.
reminds me of my peeve at the usage today of tlita for a female which i believe is wrong. U may be changing yeeye to teeye but the shin is for sheh & that remains the same.
rabeinu…stop draying a kup….the point is someone has left this world.

Is this Miriam Ackerman’s mother? She is a Feiner from Boston.
BDE. My comment is a grammar comment. “Nifteres” is a noun – a woman that dies is titled as a ” Nifteres” . When reporting that a woman died (after her death, obviously) it becomes past tense -. “She was nifterah”.(The moment a woman dies – present tense – you can say “nifteres”. May the day quickly come when this word will not be in out vocabulary.
yes it was mrs. Ackermans mother
