Was the the nice lady who always gave out cookies to the kids?
was that the taller lady?
She was the almono of Kuppel Hoberman who used to work at Epstein’s butcher shop & the mother of Ira Hoberman
Sweetest lady…brings back great childhood memories of getting sprinkle cookies from her every friday.

Both Mr and Mrs Hoberman spoke a real old time Litvishe yiddish. A bridge to the past has been lost. (Of course only an insignificant detail beside there good character, etc)

I just met a lovely Bubby in the store about a week ago. We had a geshmake conversation about her education in Poland. Is that her, or are there more than 1 bubby in Heimishe Bake Shop? Please clarify.
Thanks!

She was the one with the white hair who added on a paper not the register usually.
She was the taller of the two Bubbies.
She was the mother of Ira Hoberman, who owned Howell State Bank, which changed its name to First State Bank when they opened a branch in Lakewood.
First State was sold to Independance Bank, which was bought by Sovereign, which in turn was swallowed up by Santander.
Her son owned a bank, but she continued to work as a clerk to keep busy and be productive.
She used to work the morning shift from 7:00-1:00 she was the taller
of the two bubbies that work here. She was very nice to everyone, loved little kids, and used to bring gifts for the little children.
she will be missed.
bde. She will truly be missed
BDE. It’s amazing how years of sweetness and smiles can make an entire community miss you.
