Mr. & Mrs. Mayer Fischl Host Chai Lifeline Achim B’Yachad Shabbaton [PHOTOS]

Close to 40 children battling illness experienced an unforgettable Shabbos at the Fischl home this past weekend. The Fischl Shabbaton provided the children of Achim B’Yachad, a division of Chai Lifeline focused on supporting Chasidish children and their families, with 72 blissful hours to be carefree children again.

Dozens of devoted volunteers provided the boys, who hail from the Lakewood, Brooklyn, Monsey and Monroe communities, with three uplifting, fun-filled days. Palpable joy and spirited camaraderie defined every part of the program.

“Watching dozens of children with shining faces forge lifelong friendships and memories was moving beyond words,” said Rabbi Sruli Fried, MSW, director of Chai Lifeline NJ/PA. “And observing the Fischl family, which was intimately involved in every step of planning and running the Shabbos, attend to every last detail was a true inspiration.”

Mrs. Miller, a Chai Lifeline coordinator who works closely with Mrs. Fischl, added, “To host that many people over the weekend should normally take days to recover. Not the Fischls, who love what they do with so much dedication. The very next morning, like every Sunday, they hosted Kidz Konnect clubs for Chai Lifeline siblings with over 60 girls in attendance. It’s all about the heart.”

The boys returned home loaded with an array of exciting souvenirs and brimming with courage to face their everyday challenges.
