Motzei Shabbos Update – Irene To Hit Lakewood As Category 1

Winds and heavy rain are beginning to pound Lakewood this evening as Irene makes its way to NJ. Irene is expected to pass the New Jersey coast late tonight into Sunday morning, with gusts to nearly 100 mph over coastal waters, and winds of about 75-80 MPH in Lakewood.

As of 9PM, only several in Lakewood have lost power. However, there are already reports of trees and wires down. TLS-CCP.
