Motorists Stuck in Hour-long Traffic Detour Due to Construction at Lakewood/Jackson Border

Hundreds of motorists this morning experienced an hour – or longer – traffic jam due to a detour at the Lakewood/Jackson border.

The detour sent drivers from Whitesville Road in Jackson onto Faraday Avenue – during rush hour and school carpool hour.

Lakewood Police Department’s Traffic Safety Division contacted Jackson, and were able to arrange for alternating traffic for the remainder of the project, which is expected to last into tomorrow morning.

  2. Not only in the morning, but 3 o’clock today too same problem 2 mile back up at least give us some kind of warning!

  3. I’m usually full of praise for the township personnel who handle traffic control for construction, but this time, not so much.

  4. The irony of LAKEWOOD scoop reporting this.
Don’t have to be a rocket scientist to uncover the root cause of all this traffic. Buckle up buttercup – will only get exponentially worse.
