A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision this afternoon on South Lake Drive in Lakewood, officials confirm.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:45 PM and involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Emergency personnel found the motorcyclist with serious injuries.
Hatzolah Paramedics treated the victim on scene before transporting him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene.
Lakewood Police Department’s Traffic Safety Division is investigating.
South Lake Drive is partially shut.

S Lake Dr is a place of interest at night, and not the best interests. There are late model cars who sit at every turn off with lights on trying to attract attention. It is not good for the neighborhood and to be honest not even good for whoever is operating a motor vehicle in a curfew area. This needs to be remediated with community patrols and a police presence.
And in the merit of giving this problem it’s due attention and developing a comprehensive and permanent solution, may the patient have a full and speedy recovery.

I feel terrible, but it’s about time this craziness of motorcycle driving – which began about a year ago, stops. Ask any rav or rosh yeshiva and they’ll discourage it. It’s very dangerous. Third serious motorcycle crash of a frum bochur in/from Lakewood in past half a year. Enough is enough. STOP DIRIVING MOTORCYCLES (and 24 hrs and disturbing people too. No idea if him, but too many.)
May he have a refuah sheleima. I heard details of injuries – many and very serious (and he was wearing a helmet and still serious injuries to head too). Is that not enough to stop this craziness?!?! Parents, mechanchim, employers too, please get involved – in a nice way but explain the danger and encourage – even monetarily – to drive car, or better yet, walk, bike etc!!! And make more/expand programs for bochurim – shiurim, davening, gatherings etc.
BTW, the noise is not only motorcycles – it’s also some noisy cars, and not only Jewish..
And in general, all should practice safety in all types of ways.
I’m not saying it was his fault – there were more factors. I don’t know exactly what happened. But in general, motorcycles are unsafe, and this 24 hr noisy motorcycle driving MUST STOP!!
