Motorcyclist Arrested after DWI Crash that Prompted 2-Hour Search on GSP in Lakewood

lfa rig tlsA drunk motorcyclist crashed his vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Lakewood last night, and then fled the scene, prompting a two-hour search by State Police, Sergeant Jeff Flynn tells TLS.

At approximately 10:45 PM Wednesday night, Barnegat resident Robert Oleynick was traveling southbound at mile marker 89.7 when he rear-ended a Ford Pickup truck, Flynn says.

The 32-year-old driver was ejected from the motorcycle and fled the scene, leaving his damaged motorcycle on the road, Flynn says.

New Jersey State Police Troopers, along with a K9 unit, searched for the driver until he was located in the nearby woods at approximately 12:44 AM, Flynn says.

Lakewood First Aid was requested to the scene and treated the driver for minor injuries.

The driver was arrested and charged with DWI, and Obstruction, Flynn said.
