Mother & Infant Climb Out Of Overturned Vehicle With Minor Injuries

overturn forestVIDEO: A mother and infant climbed out of an overturned vehicle this afternoon, miraculously with only minor injuries. The pair were driving in an SUV when it collided with a minivan at the intersection of Forest Avenue and 14th Street. The vehicle landed on its side and the airbags were deployed. The woman climbed out of the side of the vehicle, along with her child.

The driver of the minivan was uninjured.

The intersection has a blinking light, but no traffic light.

Hatzolah transported the mother and infant to KMC for observation. TLS-55/TLS-CCP/TLS-00

  1. what time did this happen? glad to hear that mother and child are all right and that nobody was hurt. I’ve lived in lakewood 31 yrs and i think it’s about time they put a traffic light there and get rid of the blinking light.

  2. born and raised here, the light has always be there except at one time they blinked the other way you had to stop on forest that was red, then the changed it to the present way, time for a light

  3. Its a nightmare because everyone is in such a rush and they are on their cell phones from the time they leave their home to the time they get home..Nothing will work as long as the traffic and pedestrian volume doesn’t pay attention to what they are doing.

  4. I’ve lived here for more than 30 years and it’s never been this bad. Too many bad, distracted, uncaring drivers. Come on people! When are you going to wake up. It’s not the traffic lights or lack of them. It’s people not paying attention, on the phone, too many distractions, lack of consideration for others and on and on….

  5. you can install as many lights and four way stops as you like, it wont change the fact that people dont know how to drive! you are driving a car and that requires your utmost attention at all times. getting behind the wheel is not the time to conduct buisness on a phone, text your friend, eat your breakfast or put on makeup. on seconds misattention and it could be you getting taken away in an ambulance.

  6. Cars should get ticketed if parked to close to corners, u have to get in intersection to see traffic on Forest ave from 1st St.- Countyline enforce the Law

  7. To S (which I assume means stupid):
And I am entitled to freedom of speech. As such, you are an imbecilic clod.
Which part of slow down or G-D forbid hurt someone don’t you get??? You wanna rush? Put on a pair of Nike’s and run like the wind. But by all means, please have your license revoked.

  8. number 11—-maybe you are going at the wrong speed. if your constantly rushing, you will miss out on life itself.. lets let go of the obsessionwith speed, and slow down, stop RUSHING, AND ENJOY LIFE.

  9. It may be a free country but you have no right to put my life and your family’s lives at risk because you are in a rush. It’s self centered thinking like that, that puts everyone else on the road in danger. Shame on you.

  10. I had an accident there as well on a Friday afternoon 25 years ago without cell phone distractions. An elderly woman ran the blinking red that has ALWAYS faced 14th street.
