Why does the hatzalah convention have to be in a far away exotic place?
Why not in the USA or Israel close to most members to not waste so much money and time…I want to give my money to an organization that is careful with every penny…as I bet hatzalah generally is…I am turned off by such wastefulness that seem so unnecessary.
@rocky as a Hatzala member I can tell you that what happened was, most hatzala members had to be in South Africa for other business and therefore it made sense to make the convention there to save money
Usually, the compaliners are the ones that aren’t giving money, and they need to not feel guilty about that…
You see in these pictures wonderful ballei chesed that put their work aside! They are there for one and only one reason, only to be more efficient in helping people!
BTW, airfare to South Africa is surprisingly reasonable. But the real savings is on the accommodations. Due to the rate of exchange from the USD to the South African Rand, you can stay in really luxury hotels for a laughable sum. And have a great time in a magnificently beautiful country!
