Toms River Police Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) concluded a month long investigation last night with two arrests and seized 1,900 bags of heroin, 7 grams of crack cocaine and $2,300 in currency, Toms River Chief Michael Mastronardy says.
Authorities arrested a 29 year old Toms Rover resident and 30 year old Lakewood resident, and charged them with possession with intent to distribute heroin, Mastronardy says.
The Chief says the suspects were using various hotels in the Toms River area dealing narcotics. Last night’s arrest took place at the Ramada Inn on Route #9 were they were renting a room, Mastronardy says.
Both Calhoun and Jackson are being held in Ocean County Jail on $250,000 bail no 10%.
“This investigation was imitated by the special investigation Team after receiving information from various residents about suspicious activity. The information proved valuable and was essential to the successes of this case,” says Mastronardy.
Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity can contact Sgt. Shaun O’Keeffe supervisor of the special enforcement team at 349-0150 ext 1272. TLS.
