A new program at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) is helping COVID-19 patients with lingering health issues fully recover through coordinated rehabilitation and outpatient services designed to help them return to optimal health.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged patients treated at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, as well as other hospitals, who already have preexisting illness or underlying conditions,” explains Charles Markowitz, M.D., Medical Director of the Department of Rehabilitation. “COVID-19 can cause heart and lung complications, especially in patients withchronic debilitating conditions. After a hospital discharge from COVID-19, patients can have limited function due to lingeringrespiratory illness and weakened immune systems, or physicalproblems, including weakness and trouble walking.”
The Post-COVID Recovery Program, which is also available to COVID patients who were not hospitalized, offers coordinated outpatient rehabilitation, including physical and speech therapy, and access to a continuum of care, such as additional outpatient testing, radiology or prescriptions.
The Post-COVID Recovery Program is easy to get started. Patients can request a prescription from their physician andschedule an evaluation with the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department.

[Press Release]

I noticed in my neighborhood that quite a few men over 60 were hospitalized with COVID 15 months ago, they were all big, strong healthy men, contractors etc ; after barely recovering from it they became so old, skinny, weak, they suffer from headaches and dizziness, they no longer work etc and I noticed recently they look even older and weaker.
In my case while recovering from COVID a year ago I lost 25 lbs thus had no taste, smell or appetite, I felt weak, took short naps but I felt slim and great; than I got my smell, taste and appetite back, I now weigh the most that I had ever weighed; I got a beating from my cardiologist, my bad cholesterol is up, my blood sugar is up, trouble with my feet etc he added an additional new cholesterol medication and another new heart medication; I blame my wife for cooking so much and so good . I’m a galicianer thus hate to waste anything but my rav says that not only is it permitted but it’s a Mitzvah to throw the extra food in the garbage and not in my mouth.
It’s experimental Gene Therapy. Hopefully everyone will know soon. Pray for your health and future. Buyer beware. Caveat Emptor. May God protect us.
