It really is not appropriate to call these type of events a “Chinese Auction” this terminology has not been used for many years in most circles since it is viewed in a negative light by the Asian Community. The more appropriate name for this type of fundraising event is commonly known as a “Tricky Tray” which is the term most schools and organizations public and private have adopted.
