History will be made in Tampa this evening when 2,286 delegates and 2,125 alternate delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories gather together at the 40th Republican National Convention to nominate the Republican candidate Mitt Romney as the next president of the United States.
A highlight of the concention, is the keynote address to be delivered by Governor Chris Christie.

History? what history? BIGGEST speech ever? Taft was bigger I think. barely.
More hot air being blown around. Thought the hurricane left Tampa.
FYI the Rabbi speaking at the convention IS ; Rabbi Mair Solovetchik!? Not from Israel
Mr. Historian: Who said this will be the biggest speech ever? Nowhere in this TLS post does it mention anything about “biggest speech”.
Speaking of “biggest speech”, I believe that Obama’s infamous Cairo speech to the Arab world where he encouraged them to rise up, may go down as the biggest and most historic speech in modern post-Reagan history, as the beginning of the rise of Islam across the world. As we see in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and Syria, the Muslim Brotherhood is rising across the Arab world, and is lurking in the shadows in Europe and America.
The Democrat National Convention (not to be confused with the Republican National Convention), will be holding a two-hour Muslim prayer meeting and love-fest. (A Christian cardinal was denied the opportunity to speak at the Democrat National Convention.)
These Obama Democrats are destroying this country, and hopefully Romney will stop them.
Romney is what stands between Obama and his historic dreams of making America just like third-world Arab countries.
Which therefore makes Romney’s nomination historic.
