Missionaries Targeting Frum Neighborhoods Once Again

PHOTO: Missionaries are again attempting to distribute their information ot Frum residents this evening. Attached is a book from Christian author Philip Goble, which is being distributed in the disguise of a Siddur or Chumash. The books were seen distributed in the area of Lexington and Monmouth Avenues.

In August, a group of men distributed similar material from Tom Cantor. It’s unknown if the groups are affiliated with one another.

According to Rabbonim, one is to immediately discard the material. TLS-MYR.

You have heard of freedom of speech…its in the constitution…just because you believe all your neighborhoods are private..they are not..you get public services: garbage pickup, snow plowing, Police..etc etc
You may think you have a private neighborhood but if you did you would have to pay for garbage pickup services, private landscaping & snow removal. You moved into areas that were previously a wooded area or houses that were not up to your standards so they were wrecked and built up new ones. If you don’t want them at your home do not open your door, or tell them you would prefer they not come to your home..its that simple..no need to have extra police patrols, or LCSW take on more responsibilities than they already have..they are doing a great job but there is only so much LCSW can to. If you don’t want these people at your home it is YOUR job to tell them do not come here.

#3, There’s a big difference between Chabad trying to get those who are already Jewish to do Mitzvos, and those who want us to abandon Judaism and become xtian.

That being said, we do live in a free country, and those people do have the right to provide information that they feel is important, as long as they do not do it in a harassing or intimidating way and do not violate other people’s rights or property. And we have the right to politely ignore them and go our own way, but we do not have the right to chase them away from public places where they have just as much right to be there as we do.

hey #2…….freedom of religion is a freedom to practice it,not impose it on other people let alone people from other religions.
And secondly if someone wants to learn about other religions there are libraries and a whole lot on the internet to read, going to doorsteps is invasion of privacy and very rude.

True Story: 39 years ago two J’s Witnesses came knocking. I told them to wait a minute. I quickly put on my tallis and tefillin. Placed out some fruit on the table, opened the door and invited them in saying this is what Abraham taught us in the Bible we have to do for guests. (I had my trusty Ruger 357 Magnum hidden under my tallis, just in case) I offered them the fruit as Abraham would do. Wide eyed, seeing me in my garb I questioned them about making a Bracha and they froze silent. I said this is what Abraham our Father would do and G-d made it a commandment in his honor. They tried to give me their literature and speak but I explained, no need for that as I have the originals which were given to Moses our Teacher from which theirs were misconstrued for “commercial” reasons and pointed to the Chumash and Gemara on my desk. I showed them some pages about Abraham saying “this is the original”, if you can read this then we’ll talk. Well one of them admitted to me that he was Jewish and what his Jewish name was (Yaacov). I taught him the Bracha and he made it and took an apple and started eating. I kept calling him Yaacov every time I spoke to him. He broke down in tears and his partner grabbed him to hastily leave. I walked them down the stairs saying this is what Abraham used to do and it was Biblical law to do so. They tried to leave me some literature but of course I refused it. I felt so bad for Yaacov (Jack) with tears still in his eyes, as his partner grasped his arm to high tail him out of the building. I invited Yaacov to come back anytime he wanted. I always wondered what happened to Yaacov. Sad but true.
