A missing toddler was found after about an hour search today.
At about 10:30AM, the toddler’s mother woke up and realized her toddler was not in the home.
She frantically called Hatzolah reporting her toddler missing, promting a search from Hatzolah, police, LCSW, Chaveirim and a K-9 unit.
After approximately an hour, the toddler was found with his father, who had apparently taken him to Shul.

B”H for the wonderful conclusion. No question that the correct course of action was undertaken and THANK YOU to LPD and all the organizations involved!
A little coordination between the parents would have gone a long away.
2 guys came to my shul and made an announcement that a child was missing. It was scary. One of the mispalelim is an uncle to The Lost One. It was Very uncomfortable for all of us. He later went to the house and found out the child was found. Which was gr8 relief for all of us. But @Cool Masmid, as usual, is 100% right. Daddy, tell Mom ur taking the child to Shul.
don’t judge!!! you are perfect!
Read the artical ,,, she woke up at 1030
Um, Why wasn’t the shul checked first….
I think the organizations in Lakewood just needed to put some use in to their mobile command unit so the battery stays charged.
B”H all’s well that starts well.
Wow. Crazy Story. Glad all is OK. Just 2 thoughts;
1- @me – no one is judging but its not so hard to tell Mommy I’m taking the kid to Shul.
2- who takes a toddler to shul anyway ? Toddlers dont belong in shul more than a few minutes.
And, btw, some messengers from Hatzolah came to my shul. The laining was stopped for their announcement. In another shul, the Hatzolah members radio was blabbering non stop. This was not a pleasant experience. Just saying….
Shvuah Tov.
Yes we can say he shouldve told her blah bla bla…he obviously didmt want to wake his sleeping overworked wife and never dreamed it would cause what it did. He likely felt he was going out of his way to help his wife and surprised her by taking him, assuming she would think that’s what happened when she woke up . Of course he never dreamed the outcome would be such. Any husband that has enough good middos, smart thinking brain, and such caring for his wife, should be commended. Yes, he missed the boat a drop but the intentions were right and it was an oversight on his part. He never intended to disturb others davening etc or to panic his wife. A lesson learned but go easy people on the judging
@mytwocents very well said! How correct
@Shloimy, I’m sorry, that was in very poor taste. Insinuating that ppl used their radios on Shabbos for the battery. Plz…..At BEST that’s Choshed B’Ksheirim, at worst…..
Plz, ur a smart guy, use your head for 2 seconds b4 you post distasteful stuff about 100s of Holy Volunteers in this town.
If she takeh didn’t wake till 1030am. She was probably very tired. Perhaps her husband did tell her, and she kind of half nodded in her sleep. He assumed she heard him. While she was so sleepy that she just didn’t remember it. Haven’t you ever had a spouse speak to you while you’re half asleep and you later deny ever having the conversation? Happens in every house 🙂
So true. As far as waking up at 10:30, so what. He probably didn’t want to wake her up because she may have had a “bad night.” I do the same thing, and try to fall asleep again. Anyway, glad the “little one” is OK. Next time write a note.
@Say,what?: I’m so sorry to hear your laining was stopped and someone’s radio a as “blabbering” non stop. Must have been a painful experience, while others were looking out for a fellow Jew’s child. Maybe from now on they should shut their radios before they come into shul and only search for people when you won’t be disturbed …
very well said
That comment was directed to #6 and he was trying to say that Hatzala did check shuls
@Miss Informed – I didnt mean it that way. I’m not blaming Hatzolah here, of which I know you are a valuable member (you know me, btw) I’m saying alot of people were inconvenienced for NOTHING !! Tho I cant blame the Daddy either. Whatever, it’s fine.
You obviously don’t know me. A Sofek missing child is considered pikuach nefesh , not hearing many people complaining of being inconvenienced, not sure how you even use that word in this discussion. But as I once heard from a Chashuva Rov, how can you sit idle as your brother has a Tzorah. A mother thinking her child is missing, I don’t even want to think what was going through her mind R”L
