Minyan Shelanu, under the leadership of Rabbi Chaim Abadi Shlita, intends to keep their Lag Ba’omer Barbecue /Raffle event a fun and Spiritual event for all. It is therefore requested by the Minyan, that no single girls attend this year’s event, unless accompanied by a parent. It is also requested from all women attending the event, to comply with the strict rules of Tznius set forth by the Minyan. The event, which takes place at the Oak Street school, is a family-oriented event with free food, music and dancing, and is intended to be a fun and Kosher experience for all.

How refreshing – actually addressing a potential issue! Maybe other ‘more mainstream’ mosdos should take note!
So there is no reason to attend this event anymore??
No wonder we have a “shidduch crisis” let them go!!!
im impressd with this post!!
this is one step to bring Klal yisroel to teshuva-with using modesty
reb chaim is moser nefesh for all of the children of klalyisroel and specifically lakewood……many think he is not stringent enough with them but its his tough love that keeps them on the right derech and safe…he should be gebentch with gezunt arichos yomim and nachas
The question is will they be enforcing it by the event ?
YThe Lakewood Tea Party is maskim
I think we have to trade Eli Manning !
eh,once the girls are there ppl dont usually say anuthing unless they are making a scene…but out of respect, dont show up.
Why hang up your dirty laundry in public?
Why not single girls? Maybe the married ones should stay away.
such fools!!! whay cant you just let it be
maybe one of the leitzim commenting here, should make a bonfire for the ezras noshim?
instead of bashing, lets see u work a little for klal yisroel
Why don’t you print the letter from the mosdos that tell the kids they can’t go
Are they going to have a tent?
Why do they have too single people out let everybody come and enjoy לג בעומר with an אחדות
Not sure I understand this – are single girls a contradiction to a fun and spiritual event??? Are they any less spiritual than men???
Many of thse girls are unfortunatly not in school, or may have graduated.
Remember R Abadi doesn’y allow seminary unless special circumstances, so they could be H.S. graduates
I don’t understand. I have not been zochen to find my bashert yet. Am I to be escorted everywhere by Mommy and Tatty just because of my marital status? I know how to behave! I just don’t want to be treated like a child because I am not yet married. If I were 19 and married I would be invited on my own, is that right? Please feel for me when you make blanket rules/statements like this.
all you leitzim know good and well why such a statement was made. NOW GROW UP!!!
Why does everyone have such negative comments. It should be b’tsnius and single girls should behave themselves. Lag B’Omer isn’t meant for singles to be cavorting around.
True he might do a lot for these boys but do we want our kids exposed to this type of envioment. They have time to wait till later on in life if they need him they will find there way to his place
the minyan is a place for boys,so yes,it is a fair statemnt for the rabbi to be asking the girls to respect that,by not coming. we all know which girls are being adressd to here,i am not steriotyping or anything of the sort.
giants who do you want too trade Eli Manning for?
Of course single girls should behave themselves but so should single guys and all other participants for that matter. It’s hurtful for mature torahdik single girls to be “singled” out more so than anyone else. People should comment with a little more sensitivity.
this is ridiculous! i think they have gone too far! it is a personal choice to go or not and whoever decides to actually go should not think that she is not welcomed there. makes me very angry!

Im sure reb chaim would b more than happy if u show up.This letter was not intended for u. It was intended for those looking to come and b a negetive influence on the younger neshomos that r there. Please come and enjoy. how do u like ur steak?

MY RESPONSE:
What are you TALKING about? Were you ever there? Exposed to what? Are you normal? If you take your cute little kinderlach to Shoprite or Walmart in the warm weather they will see a lot more exposure there than by the bonfire.
I’m not saying you should take your cuties there, but why all the bashing of the one and only place that actually gives a …. about ALL Hashem’s children*.
*cuties
Officer Butterworth will be at the gate to make sure no unattended girls come thru.
Where is the fire and when is it.
Which fire?
Hanging dirty laundry means hanging out your problems in public. If the bonfire had tznius issues in the past then deal with it betzina why make this grand anouncement to the public about your past issues? It won’t change a thing. The way to change it is to make the atmosphere one that doesn’t condone a hangout and doesn’t make it an ideal place for such behavior. Just making grand announcements doesn’t usualy solve problems it just announces that you have a problem
To #2, I’m sure the pictures will be posted on the Minyan website.
Where is Zundel? Please visit minyanshelanu.com to donate.
I will be there. Hopefully the scoop will have pictures.
think about it. This is obviously a thought- out resolution to a potential problem that can occur maybe learned from previous years events…
there was never a problem in the past. I’ve always been there & havent ever seen girls hanging out there, so get your nose away from your mouth.
I give u a beracha that you should have shmiras enayim wherever you go (including Shoprite) & PLEASE dont misconstrue anything
Dose any one know that the minyan gives out over $5000 of free food? (I do because I orderd It) All we are asking is that people should come properly dressed it is not the beach and that its not a single mingle event its a famly frendly event. Also thanks to the Oak Street School, DPW, Lakewood Fire Dept, Gelbstiens, Shoprite Kosher Experiance, LPD Traffic And Safety, Rent Wise, Auto Body Works, Ocean County Fire Marshal, and we can not Forget R, Chaim Abadi who spends days and nights arangeing the event.
Great job event organizer you rock
Thanx 2 da specialst (u no who u r) He doesnt only fight fires, he keeps my fire strong!
you da man!
Guyz, keep buying raffles, I gotta sell 5,000 more.
I heard that its mamish a gevaldigeh zachen vos Reb Chaim does for Klal Yisroel. Keep it up! I think i am gonna start learning there @ the minyan for nacht seder. I heard that its geshmakeh beais medrash and that the guys need & want more chavrusahs. since I’m a chashuve Kollelmohn, I want to give maaser of my time. Agav, Reb Moshe F. Zt”l said that if a yeshiva boochur has no gelt, he should give maaaser of his time. and let me tell you…I think I may be able to fit that categoooory.
Hope to see you ther — u know that buolding on route 88 with the colorfool limo parked out front….
PS I wanna help the specialist (whoever that is) keep those fires strong!!!!!!!!
So how is this an ‘event for all’ if there are no single women?
Single women can watch it thru shidduchvision. (of course only if it pertains to a shidduch)
