PHOTOS: Military Personnel – including Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors from McGuire AFB, Fort Dix and Lakehurst – visited Lakewood yesterday. The Officials, joined by U.S. Airforce Major Mayor Menashe Miller, Captain Chaplain Refoel Berdugo, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien and Radio Show Host Nachum Segal, enjoyed a dinner at Yussi’s Grill before the army personnel headed to the Blue Claws Stadium for a baseball game.

TLS – there is at least one picture that is objectionable, if you wouldnt mind removing it. Thanks for your service to this great town, we all appreciate it.
Thank You. And please be safe.
To # 4. Thank you for pointing it out. Photo has been edited.
Thank you #4. I was mamish distraught over it. I was poshut in a state of chalishus ha’daas and thanks to your incredible siyata dishmaya TLS, with the seichel that Hashem bentched him with, takeh took it down before I was able to make a personal macha’a. Cool masmid, I am mekaneh your oilam haba. Mamish.
Why not put your comments in english, everyone who reads the scoop is not Jewish.
to 8:
You said “EVERYONE who reads the scoop is not Jewish.”
That’s not true. I read the Scoop & I’m Jewish!
to 6 TLS:
I dont know which photo you edited.
But, photo (#8?) is VERY objectionable.
PS I’m Jewish 😉
We live in golus america but we still need to be appreciative of the united states military that we live in its protection with the help of hashem.
We constantly have army recruiters in the high school. Once, their goal was to recruit 10 kids to become chaplains. I told them to go less than a mile west on Seventh Street, and they might have some success. Needless to say, they did not recruit anyone at LHS and did not go to BMG.
objectionable? please elaborate?
can an orthodox jewish person enter into the military or police force? If not why?
yes an Orthodox Jew can and I have Orthodox friends serving in both as police and different branch’s of the military thanks to the most amazing country in the world they respect the religious restrictions that apply such as shabbos. however, if there is a war you are permitted to fight anytime to defend the country. as for joining a police force its purely technical,
the only difficulty in a small town is that being we cannot work on shabbos which is weekends and to cops whom are on the force for a few years and try to get weekends off which creates a rift in my friends case he does all the non-jewish holidays double shifts hope this answers your que.
