An event memorializing the three Lakewood Police Officers killed in the line of duty, will be held next week at Lake Carasaljo. The ‘Miles For Matlosz’ event, organized by the Local PBA, will feature a 1 mile run and a 5 mile run in an effort to raise funds for the Lakewood PBA.

What a great cause. Me and my wife will be running the 5 miler. It’s a great kiddush hashem so please come out and show your support!
I agree. It can be a kiddish Hashem. I signed up too! My first run ever 🙂
#2… better start traning you only have 2 weeks!!
I’ve been training for a year already…just never participated in a organized event yet!
sounds nice but what does this have to do with kiddush hashem.
why is it that anything and everything has become kiddush hashem??
Because everything one does in life is supposed to bring forth kvod shomayim.
who was the 3rd cop that was killed?
to #5 – anythin a frum yid does is an opportunity to either present ourselves in a good light (running a race for a good cause), or a bad light (driving around town with your kids jumping around un-belted)
which side do you want to be on?
The 3rd or first officer who was killed was officer rickter about 50 years ago.
I think u need to sit down and learn the sugya of kidush hashem
u may be surprised
yes everything we do needs to bring kvod shamayim but that doesn’t mean running a race is gona get u any big points upstairs
BTW sitting down and learning a blatt gemarah for the amount if time u would spend in a race will be a real kidush hashem and it will get u lots if credit upstairs
I’m not knocking the race
I’m just saying don’t make it in to a mitzva and convince yourself that your making kidush shem shamayim (especially this time of year when the “style of dress” leaves plenty of room to be mekadesh hashem by STAYING AWAY FROM THE PRITZUS!!!!! do you really think you making a kidush hashem when you go places that your eyes should not see???????
the training & running in the race will keep u healthy, sit all day & u will surely have health problems.
I can’t wait for this race, last year was amazing!
