  1. Take the family skiing! It is the most refreshing and exhilarating experience! All children, from all age groups will love it! It’s pricey, so try to find discounts.

  4. the furthest we ever go is to chuck e cheese, and if we feel really “rich”, we will add the pizza shop! Do good old activities, bake, crafts, etc.

  5. for the Zchus of the many serious Cholim in town,

say the complete Tehilim without a Hefsek* [approx 2.5 to 4 hours]

after you do it once, it will be easier to do again!

    * no talking or other disturbance

  6. By the way, just letting people know: if you are planning to go snow tubing or skiing on Sunday, the weather at Camelback and nearby areas will be a high of 15 degrees! That’s not pleasant weather to be outside for 10 minutes, let alone for hours whizzing down mountains with the bitter wind blowing in your face. Just a thought for people who did not realize.

  7. bowling, ice scating, shopping in malls, roller blading, sleep-overs at friends houses…let them stay up late and do things they dont usually get to do( different in every household)

  8. Holmdel park – sledding hill
Thompson Park in Holmdel – rent cross country skis for $15 or snow shoes for $10 with paths.
    Staten Island Ferry – free
    Jenkins Arcades

  9. HOME HOME HOME
Dont waste your hard earned money on vacations do yourselves a favour and listen to rabbi SB Kohn shiur for ladies this motzai shabbos

  10. Spend time together , bake , play board games, ect. Family bonding time is invaluable to the development of your children . With the daily rush we have , slow down and smell the roses, don’t have to run to be entertained. Let’s develop quality relationships with our children.

  11. The pond at Lkwd lake is frozen over. Bundle up & take the kids skating. U can borrow skates from friends, neighbors, family etc….Also, skiing is an incredibly exhilerating activity. Spring Mtn is the closest & cheapest place. Great for beginners, too. Enjoy !!

  12. There still are some seats left for Sunday night Oros Bais Yaakov play. My daughter was there Motzs”h. It was awesome. Tix avail at the door. Enjoy.

  13. How about studying the laws of tzniyus with our future yiddishe mamme’s. I don’t think enough of an emphasis is put on this issue inn our schools and the Mesorah from mother to daughter is especially vital in this holy subject. Let’s use this opportunity to read “Oz V’hudur L’vushoi” from Rabbi Falk together with our daughters. A few chapters a day. We have been doing it for years already and the results are marvelous.

  14. Go back to school. Why do we have to do what they do in public schools. It’s nothing but bittel Torah for all off the ungerleit who have to babysit. And a pain for any woman in Lkwd who has a real job. The kids don’t need it as that just had Chanukah and soon Purim. A proof to that is that they don’t know what to do with themselves during this “break”. Nor do the parents know what to do with them.

  15. In Philadelphia you have Franklin mills-all indoors they have all discount stores, a five and below store which has lots of toys, a dave and busters.

  16. Why does everyone COMPLAIN all day. BH you all have children! it should be your honour and pleasure to spend time with them.

    Now ppl wanted serious ideas.
Not to turn this into a debate.

    ice skating tomorrow for girls
the staten island ferry is a lot of fun. Altho its free, once you get to the city it will be costly getting around and finding what to do.
buy art and activities and do them at home. like ceramics, glass art, canvas painting, beading, water painting…..

thank Hashem that you are put into this situation. there are couples who would do anything to have a kid home on mid-winter break.

    STOP THE COMPLAINING!!!!!!

  17. if anyone wants to babysit & make money tomorrow night, Monday, please post here. great way to spend your vacation! tehn youll have money to do something with your friends on Tuesday!! I called bunch of people, theyre all busy

  18. Whoever says that kids don’t need midwinter vacation, it’s obvious that you don’t sit in school every day. Before you start banning midwinter vacation, try sitting in school for seven hours and see how you like it
