PHOTOS: Michael Mastronardy Sworn in as County Sheriff

smPHOTOS: Former Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy was sworn in yesterday as the new Ocean County Sheriff. The swearing-in event was held at the Toms River Court Room

and attended by many personnel from the Sheriff’s Office. Administering the oath of office was Judge Vincent Grasso.

Mastronardy, who retired last week from the Toms River Police Department after 41 years of service, replaces Sheriff William Polhemus who died in 2012. William Sommeling served as the interim Sheriff.
