Message from Lakewood DPW Director Patrick Donnelly on impending storm

As of this morning, the current mix line starts between 12 and 3 p.m. in Lakewood.

We currently feel that it could potentially start on the earlier end. With that being said the heavier snow could also start between 1 and 3 p.m. with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inch per hour. We would definitely start seeing plowable totals by sunset this evening. We have a 40% confidence rate that we will still see the heavier snow totals reach 2 to 4in but within Northwestern Ocean County could see 3 to 6″. The storm ends between 7 and 10 p.m. tonight.

We also must keep in mind that heavy wet snow will fall, winds 10 to 20 mile per hour and gusts from 30 to 35. We’ve had a lot of rain, a lot of moisture, the ground is saturated… we are ready at DPW and will keep everybody as safe as possible. Should anybody have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thank you, and be safe today.

Patrick Donnelly
