As first reported on TLS last week, the Township has formed a Committee to deal with the many complaints residents have and continue to file against the utility companies. The Committee members have been announced as Fairways resident Bill Hobday, Mike McNeil, Larry Simons, Pastor Salguero and Shmuel Binder.
“It was very good thinking by the Mayor, it’s a great idea” Committeeman Isaac Akerman commented to TLS following the Committee’s approval of the new board, spearheaded by Mayor Miller, “A lot of complaints come in about the utilities, and it’s great to have a direct connection with them”.

How can we contact you guys? First order of business should b. Njaw has a building on James street. Let em open a stinken office in lakewood. They’re a big company with no office??? Gee whiz
The newspaper list other names, what’s the scoop? Do you have to live in Lakewood to be in this committee also?
Yudel Shain was a member of the NJ American water company Consumer roundtable for about a year. Was anything accomplished for the consumers? hardly. What did work were the complaints I filed with the Board of Public Utilities.
Another item that’s very helpful for all of the utility companies is to follow by the BPU anytime they ask for a raise (which is always) to challenge their requests because they don’t provide the service.
Yes, you have to live in lakewood to be on the committee. And the other websites wrote the names of the original committee, but they were switched. The scoop is from lakewood and will usually be much more reliable then the other sites.
