Known throughout Lakewood as “Rabbi Apter’s Shiur”, the unique group of Bnei Torah and Baalei Batim who make up this Chabura are embarking on a historic Building Campaign, with the goal of making a long-held dream into a reality: To create a beautiful and befitting round-the-clock Mokom Torah U’Tefillah, to call home.

Having been together for almost 20 years, this Kehilla continues to grow exponentially, with numerous daily Shiurim, covering B’iyun, Bekius, Navi, Mussar, Halacha and Agada. Each of these Shiurim are attended by dozens of serious Bnei Torah, who for years have daily remained dedicated to these Shiurim and learning, above all other callings of their schedule.

Rabbi Apter and his Shiurim attract Talmidim from all walks of life, including Chassidish, Litvish and Sfardi, and attendees of every age, all coming away with the feeling that his caring, his connection, and his learning are custom tailor made for each of them individually.

Besides for their dynamic and beloved maggid Shiur, a tremendous personality and exceptional Talmid Chochom of his own rite, numerous other great Rabbonim and Talmidei Chachomim from around the world have made this Chabura a destination of choice, by regularly visiting and delivering in-depth Shiurim and Divrei Torah and Chizuk.

To further their growth in Torah and Avodah, the Chaburah travels together to Eretz Yisroel every year for a Yarchei Kallah of their own. With a singular determination, they set aside all of the numerous demands of every-day life, with great sacrifice, for a solid week of dedication to the purest Torah Learning, in Avira D’Eretz Yisroel.

Over the past several years, their new Shul named Bais Medrash Tiferes Mordechai has quickly become one of the foremost Batei Knesses of Lakewood. The Shul attracts hundreds of Mispallelim…Kollel Yungerleit and Ba’alei Batim alike, who all feel a tremendous kesher and have formed a wonderful bond both with this Mokom Tefillah, and with each other.

The Shul operates on premises that have currently been available only on Shabbosim and Yomim Tovim, and it has very quickly outgrown its current space. The Shiurim, as well, are hosted in borrowed space.

The planned new, magnificent building is designed to bring together all of these tremendous Kochos, with Shiur rooms, Oitzer, and beautiful Shul, which will be a befitting permanent mokom for this Chabura. A true mokom Torah and Tefillah, this Bais Medrash will be a fitting home for all Bnei Torah of Lakewood, Yungerleit and Baali Battim alike, with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, which will make it a universal center of Limud Hatorah and Tefillah, becoming a beautiful jewel in the Crown of Lakewood.

This Motzei Shabbos, Parshas Vayechi, a Melava Malka will be held at Kahal Bnei Torah,
304 Monmouth Avenue, to inaugurate this momentous Building Campaign.
