VIDEO: Keeping his promise to honor all veterans who served this Country, the Mayor this evening honored two Korean War Veterans. Morris Sussman – father of Sgt. David Sussman, and Bob Hertzendorf, were presented with a plaque from the Mayor on behalf of the Committee, in recognition of their service to the Unites States.
Prior to calling up the two heroes, the Mayor showed a short film of the imporatnce of never forgetting those that served our Country. (See video).
The Mayor has extended an invitation to all Lakewood veterans who have not been recognized, to come forward so that the Township can thank them for their service.
I was never asked, been here a long time..!!
This presentation is wonderful! Kudos to the township committee for their respect and appreciation to those who served.
Good job Mr. Mayor and thank you. Will the Township do something for Aado Kommendant a former MIA that has had his body indentified and will be buried in Arlington this Aug? Lost in S Vietnam Aug 8 1966 MIA untill decleard KIA in 1979 Lakewood High School class of 1960.
I’d like to salute the memory of Larry Lazzaro, Korean War vet known as Corporal Ravioli, a real ohaiv yisrael and sometimes shabbos goy for the Pawnee neighborhood
from a student of his at PCS
This event was a real moving tribute. Its a true kiddush hashem that the Mayor recognizes these individuals as they are brought to his attention.
I didnt realize Larry Lazzaro passed. He was a real American hero, and also my Professor at PCS.
While I don’t know who Larry Lazzaro is, but wouldn’t the prudent thing be to call the Mayor’s office and bring this to his attention? Posting your thoughts about Larry on this site won’t get the recognition and respect that should be accorded. Just sayin.
Mr. Mayor, I’ve said this before on this site and I’ll say it again. You are a man of action and have true leadership capabilities. But most of all you are credit to the Jewish people. Keep up the good work.
