Mayor Langert Lauds Board Of Education

langert cliftonEchoing the statements of BOE Carl Fink, Lakewood Township Mayor Steven Langert has thanked the Lakewood Board of Education for its spirit of cooperation with the Township in solving problems and moving forward in a productive way to benefit the schools and the town. Board member Carl Fink and members of his Buildings and Grounds subcommittee approached the Township Committee about repairing numerous potholes, mulching some playgrounds, seeding some school properties and the Clark School field, and trimming trees.

Mayor Langert says, “It was apparent in our discussions, which were conducted in a civil and friendly manner, that we have a lot of the same goals and responsibilities – providing the best possible services for the least possible cost to the taxpayers, and at the same time providing safe and secure places for our school children.”

By utilizing the Lakewood Department of Public Works the Township was able to save about $50,000 for work that had to be done.  Besides praising the Board, Mayor Langert extended his thanks and appreciation to Senator Robert Singer, Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller, Meir Lichtenstein, and Ray Coles, the entire Township Committee, who worked with him and several Board of Education members to embark on this joint venture.

Mayor Langert says, “Some of the problems in our town may not be YOUR problems, but every resident of Lakewood deserves to have a fiscally responsible government made up of people who are equally concerned about them in working for the common good.”
