Mayor Honors Township Employee Who Served In Vietnam

VIDEO: It’s never too late to be recognized for serving in the Military, the Mayor said at Thursday’s Township Committee meeting as he honored a Vietnam veteran. Keeping to a promise to honor all Township residents who served in the Military, the Mayor presented a plaque to Francis DeCausy, a Township employee, thanking him for his service in the Military in Vietnam for the years of 1969 through 1971.

DeCausy, born and raised in Lakewood, is currently employed in the town’s Building Maintenance department. TLS.

  1. This is wonderful. Each veteran deserves our honor for serving our country. I remember the loathsome treatment that the liberal press gave the veterans got when they returned from the VIet Nam war. Each veteran is a hero, and deserves our hakoras hatov in this medina shel chessed.

Hard to believe it’s that long ago.

  2. Menashe, I cant believe so much time has passed since you were a student in my class. You have truly grown into a respectable person.Your leadership qualities and compassion for your fellow man is legendary!
    Keep up the great work.

  3. Rare to find an orthodox jew that is so appreciaitve of those that served this Country. Mr. Miller is a credit to his people. May there be more like him.

  4. I’m sorry you feel that way #4. I am an orthodox Jew living in lakewood and whenever I see a vetran I go over and say thank you and shake his hand, and I teach my children to do the same.

  5. It never fails to amaze me how Mayor Menashe looks out for “the little guy”. I am certain that not a moment goes by that he doesn’t contemplate how to improve this town, how to bridge the gap between Lakewood’s diverse residents and how to show appreciation where it is most deserved. When the Talmud uses such phraseology as “Praiseworthy are those who bore him” or “Praise is the G+D of this individual” Mayor Menashe is to whom they were referring.
