Mayor Coles urges caution as strong winds move in; Crews on standby for downed trees, other hazards

damage from storm 9-16Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles is urging caution as strong rains and high winds move into the area, potentially resulting in serious damage.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning, which will be in effect from 3 AM Monday morning until 9 PM Monday evening.

We could be seeing wind gusts of 60 MPH, the NWS said

“While we are not expecting snow from this storm, high winds and heavy rainfall will make traveling very hazardous,” said Mayor Ray Coles. “Everyone should give themselves extra time to get where they are going and be very careful when outside.”

The Mayor says Township crews are on standby for any potential damage.

“The Township will have crews on hand to deal with downed trees and other hazards that may present themselves,” Coles said.
