[COMMUNICATED] An impressive list of the spiritual leaders of klal yisroel will convene at the home of Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlit”a on Taanis Esther this year for a massive prayer event. Attendees include Rav Gershon Edelstein, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe, the Biale Rebbe, Rav Shimon Galai, Rav Dovid Cohel, Rav Yitzchok Silberstein, and more. Surrounded by cameras and spectators, the rabbanim will pray for an elite list: donors to this year’s Kupat Ha’Ir matanos l’evyonim program. Funds collected will be dispersed on the day of Purim to may of the poorest families in Israel. Recipients are screened beforehand to ascertain the extent of their need.
In the days to come, Jews around the world will be m’kayim the necessary yearly mitzvah of matanos l’evyonim.
