Marines to Conduct Range Training at Joint Base MDL

If you hear loud noises coming from the direction of the Joint Base, or feel the ground shaking the next couple of days, there’s no need to worry. The 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment; the Marine Wing Support Squadron 472; and the 2nd Battalion 25th Marine Regiment from Garden City, N.Y., are scheduled to conduct firing training at the Dix ranges between March 8-10, Joint Base MDL says.

Training is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force. As a result of these units performing their important training, residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions. TLS.
