Marines to Conduct Range Training; Area Residents May Hear Loud Noises, Feel Ground Shaking

mcguire_fort_dix_lakehurst_joint_base_mdl_tls_picFrom Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. – The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division from Garden City, N.Y. will conduct mortar firing training here, March 7-9, 2014.

Firing is scheduled to cease at 11 p.m. each day.

This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force. As a result of this important training, some residents may hear more noise than usual coming from our ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.

The joint base works very hard to ensure training has minimal impact on its local communities. JB MDL is grateful for the overwhelming support it has received throughout the years. Base leadership values this relationship and will continue to work hard to ensure we remain good neighbors.
