Marines To Conduct Artillery-Fire Training At Joint Base MDL; Resident May Hear Noise, Feel Ground Shaking

Members of Golf Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment will conduct artillery-fire training at the joint base ranges July 20 through 22. Training is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

“This essential training helps ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force”, Joint Base MDL says. “As a result of this important training, some residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the joint base’s ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. Additionally, noise from the ranges may travel farther if weather conditions are overcast.”

“Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst works hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.” TLS.

  1. Part of the base is accessible by military vehicles on RT 70 but the military personnel going to the bases must use the gates that are on the bases.
