URGENT: PD, EMS and Hatzolah have been extremely busy all day today responding to many MVA’s, including an overturn on Hope Chapel a short time ago. We would like to remind our readers to please use extreme caution in this weather. The wet leaves on the road add to the danger by reducing your traction causing your car to skid. Also, to avoid hydroplaning, you should drive slowly through puddles if you cannot avoid them. Should your car skid, steer gently into the skid and stop accelerating, allowing the car to find the road again. If you have antilock brakes, depress them firmly as you are coming out of the skid to bring your car to a stop. If you do not have antilock brakes, pump your brakes once the car has found the road again. Remember, rather lose a minute an save a life, than lose a life to save a minute.
