  1. Based on the video, it’s in the (moderated) Beis Medrash on (moderated) ave, across from (moderated). Why doesn’t the scoop provide basic details

      • Well @TLS Editor without any of those details its not very newsworthy. Sounds like ‘Today there was a man bleeding at 615. Police came. He went to the hospital. The end.

      • I’ve been pointing out this problem for a while. TLS’s noble aim to be discrete and work within the rules of shmiras halashon are very admirable, but even admirable intentions can be carried to excess. Many times, articles are posted without sufficient information for the public to make any sense of the basic facts of what happened and certainly not enough information to make an informed judgment about the significance of the event, its impact on the public or on particular communities and neighborhoods or anything else that makes journalism useful.

These things can be easily accomplished without violating confidentiality and without interference with first responder operations. It just takes a little more effort and editing skill than it does to leave out details readers want and need to know.

Now, I can sit back and receive criticism that I don’t care about confidentiality or that I am just a nudnik who has nothing better to do than get juicy details of the misfortune of other people. Flame away!

  2. To me,myself&i…say its you or one of your family members that were stabbed and robbed what kind of police response would you deem adequate?
