Man Threatens to ‘Shoot Up’ Chuck E Cheese on Chambersbridge Rd; 3 Arrested

brick pd tlsAt approximately 7:30 pm yesterday evening, officers responded to the Chuck E Cheese restaurant located at 56 Chambersbridge Road for a report of a fight with possibly a gun involved. 

“Investigation on scene revealed that a suspect, identified as Bertrick A. Artis (black male, 44 years old, Toms River, NJ) responded to the restaurant and threatened a patron who was attending a party,” says Sgt. Henry Drew of the Brick Police Department. “Officers received information on scene that Artis had threatened to “shoot the place up”, if the victim did not give him his money.”

“Artis then attempted to stick his hands in the victim’s pocket to remove his money,” says Drew. One of the victim’s family members heard this exchange between Artis and the victim and dialed 911.

Detectives Daniel Waleski and Thomas Cooney arrived on scene to assist with the investigation.

Information developed by the detectives identified Antinique M. Wright (black female, 21 years old, Lakewood, NJ), and Martez Williams (black male, 22 years old, Asbury Park, NJ) as two other subjects that were involved in this incident.

Artis, Wright and Williams were placed under arrest at the scene and transported to Brick Police Headquarters.

At Brick Police Headquarters, Artis was charged with Robbery. A warrant and bail for Artis was set by the Honorable Judge Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. at $350,000.00 with no option to post ten percent. Artis was transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Wright was charged with Possession of Other Weapons (Stun Gun) and Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and was released on a criminal summons.

Williams was charged with Possession of Marijuana Under 50 Grams and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and was released on a criminal summons.
