Man Posing as Local Doctor Arrested after Attempting to Fill Prescription for ‘Patient’

A man posing as a local Doctor, was arrested after trying to fill a prescription for a ‘patient’, police say. At approximately 2:20 pm yesterday, Officer John Macerino and Det. Jason Pederson responded to the CVS Pharmacy on River Ave to investigate a possible fraudulent prescription.

Upon arrival, they were advised that a man, posing as a local doctor, was attempting to call in a fake prescription of hydrocodone for a patient named ‘Eric Gorbin’. But a store employee suspicious of the call, contacted the real doctor, who advised that the prescription and patient’s name were not valid.

While still on scene, Officer Macerino was advised by store employees that Mr. Gorbin, who’s true identity was later determined to be Zinovy Rapoport of Toms River, NJ, had just arrived at the store.

Mr. Rapoport was arrested without incident and transported to the Lakewood Police Station where he was charged with Attempting to Obtain a Controlled Dangerous Substance without a Valid Prescription. [TLS]
