  1. To #1 Because it will not affect the night shift that has only a few officers anyway… So we will have less cops parked in a parking lot just chatting to each other…

  2. I don’t care how many tickets you have gotten from LPD and for that matter I don’t care how many my wife or I have gotten!! Ultimately the LPD does a fantastic job by doing their utmost to ensure the quiet and security in this town. It is not their fault that our brothers from Brooklyn have taken this town down by making it a safe haven for drug dealers by providing housing for them…….Don’t blame PD for what is not their fault!! I did not have a chance to read up on Mr. Langert’s proposal to lay off officers but I did read the caption. Although it MAY be necessary due to financial constraints etc. it sure is scary after all the top brass that has been retiring!! Just say thank you to the next police officer you see for TRYING his/her best to make YOUR town safe.

  3. Gangs, shootings, home invasions, muggings, stabbings, OH MY, and you still think we could afford to lay off police officers? The SAFETY of the people is more important than anything. God forbid there will be multiple crimes at the same time in 2 different parts of the town, then WHAT? That’s why paying your taxes is important. You can’t continue to demand more services with less people to do fill in those jobs.

#1- Because it ain’t worth to pay for cops to sit around and not protect us from this vermin.

What do you think will happen when there are 5 or 6 less police officers on the road?? you think its tough now..wait a few minutes for an officer to come from the south end to take care of your problems up north side of town.

These officers do not just “sit around” some are doing reports from their cars to keep up, some are taking their lunch breaks, some are watching a specific side or person in town..they are not all sitting around doing nothing.

You are a piece of work. You criticize these officers for sitting around but when they are not at your door in 30 seconds you are calling them to find out how come. Not every call in Lakewood is an emergency, but making the officers out to be the bad guys is a BIG Mistake..on your part

  5. The cops do a good job, its the judicial system that got killed by the “rightous” liberals. They let the vermin out way too soon. Go, sgt Smoke !!

  6. your joking right? you would probably be the same person to complain that the cops didn’t catch a thief would robs your home while you sleep. keep on cutting!
