Man Flown To Jersey Shore Hospital After Being Extricated From Vehicle Following Crash

Snapshot 2 (5-8-2011 2-16 AM)VIDEO: A man was flown to Jersey Shore Hospital a short time ago after being seriously injured in an MVA. The accident occurred approximately 1:40 a.m. when a driver crashed into a pole in front of the entrance to the Ocean County Park on Ocean Avenue.

Lakewood First Aid and EMS responded to the scene and extricated the man from his vehicle, before he was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center in serious condition.

  1. Isn’t Lakewood First Aid the same as EMS? What does “Lakewood First Aid and EMS” mean? – (Curious, not provocative.)

  2. Lakewood First Aid (LFAS) is a volunteer first aid squad surviving completely on donations. Lakewood EMS is a township service of paid EMT from tax dollars. LEMS and LFAS are run independently of each other.
