Man Assaulted and Robbed; Police Apprehend Suspects Minutes Later

PHOTO: A man was beaten and robbed this evening, but police apprehended the suspects minutes later, police confirm to TLS.

The 39 year old victim was was walking in the area of East 5th Street and Manetta Avenue about 7 PM when he was assaulted by three juvenile males, police say.

The suspects reportedly kicked and punched the man before making off with $400 in cash, police say.

But the suspects were spotted by an officer about four blocks away, on Ocean Avenue, where they were detained.

The victim, not seriously injured, identified the men as the attackers and they were taken into custody.

CIU and Lakewood’s Detective Bureau are investigating the incident. TLS.

Job well done to LPD. Some people work for a living , others steal .
Its a sad day when we have such a cavalier attitude .I hope the victim we be ok
