Man Arrested After Stealing Excavator, Landscape Stones to Improve His Landscaping

A man looking to improve his landscaping with stolen items, landed himself in cuffs. At approx 3 am yesterday, Officer Patrick Kearns responded to the area of Pinehurst Drive to investigate a man who was operating a backhoe.

Upon arrival, Officer Kearns observed a 62 year old man moving stone with an excavator.

After further investigation, it was learned that the suspect had taken the heavy machinery to move a pile of landscape stones from a nearby construction site to better improve his own landscaping, police say.

He was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with the theft of both the heavy equipment as well as the landscape stone.
