A man is in the hospital, severely burned, and all you can write is have a good shabbos and complain about your phone service. Disgusting. If the person was frum, this page would be covered in prayers. When did the residents of lakewood start ignoring the most basic principal of the religion that dictates their every day – the principal of compassion?

May have been a suicide attempt.

What in this article makes you think that the person is not frum? I honestly don’t know anything about this individual and I wish him a speedy recovery but your public criticism of an entire community based on some wacko’s comments on the internet is a bit overdone… especially if you know nothing about this commentator ‘s religious affiliation (or even when this person lives in Lakewood or Trenton if that really matters). To sum up- please give much thought before criticizing any individual or group in a public forum. And yes one should give much thought before placing ANY comments on a public forum if it has the potential to lead to such public criticism

how did he catch on fire??

The real story

The man was not frum or even Jewish for that mattter. He was trying to light a cigarette when he was highly intoxicated and somehow lit his pants on fire, stumbled to the building basement where he collapsed going down the stairs. Someone saw and put out the fire with water, but by that time it was too late. He was severely burnt, and the person does not live in that building or the buildings around that area.
