LPD Tickets Several Vehicles Parked In Fire Lane

ticketing_at_bmg_2An LPD Officer enforcing the parking at BMG, has just issued at least five vehicles illegally parked in the Fire Zone. TLS would like to remind our readers, once again, that unless your vehicle is a fire truck responding to a fire, parking in a fire lane is illegal and can prevent emergency personnel’s access to the scene in the event of a fire. 1. Question: Ive been in Lakewood for 15 years. Before about 6 or 7 years ago receiving a ticket on BMG property was unheard of. Can anyone please explain why the change in attitude?

  2. I don’t know if there was a change in attitude, but why should BMG property be exempt from laws?!? Especially from a law that is for the safety of the people on that property!

  3. Alright guys…park where you want…just don’t complain if a place burns down and there are deaths involved because they can’t get the fire trucks down the road. And don’t complain when the fire fighters bust out your car’s window to run hoses through it because ya parked where you didn’t belong.

  4. BMG doesn’t own the street..it is a township road thus parking rules and regulations still count..Just because it is parked in the fire lane here doesn’t mean you can because you were in a hurry and there were no more parking spaces..if there is an emergency you could prevent the firefitghters from reaching the emergency by parking in or around the fire hydrant areas.

  5. Like the 3 cars that were parked on Massachusetts Ave. during the fire at High Point the other day. The sign says “No Parking 8 AM to 5 PM”. One car had PA plates on it and a PBA shield on the windshield. 20 cops at the scene and no one got a ticket. One of the fire trucks had to run the hoses over the roof of the car. Only in Lakewood.

  6. to #1 what is your point? the law is the law. no room for discussion or debate. please elaborate…what are you inferring?

  7. To #’s 2, 4, and 6. I never said the law is not the law. I just made a point and asked a question. If possible, and this may be hard, read what I wrote before responding.

  8. One of the reasons till 6-7 years ago noone heard much about tickets at BMG. One that it was just turned into a Fire Lane in the last 6-7 years and there has been a huge growth at BMG in the last few years which means more parking issues

  9. yeh yossi on the property is one thing, on a fireclane is another. and as far as why now, i ask you a question, why not?
