LPD Sergeant Vigna Retires After 25 Years Of Service

VIDEO: “Thank you all. Be well. Be safe.” Those were the last words Sergeant Steve Vigna transmitted over the radio, an official says, as the veteran officer retired after 25 years of service to the Lakewood Police Department.

Sergeant Vigna, who chose to retire without an official ceremony, posed for a photo with his colleagues on the steps of the police headquarters before heading home with a police escort.

TLS would like to take this moment to thank Sergeant Vigna for all his great work and dedication to the Township of Lakewood. May G-d continue to watch over you and bless you.

  1. Best of wishes for your well deserved retirement! Thsnk You, and all of the Lakewood Police Department for their excellent work on part of all our citizens!

  2. Steve your be greatly missed! Was nice getting to know you over the past few years.. Wish you a lot of luck and hope you have a great retirement!

  3. Miriam, maybe he isn’t so lucky to work a dayshift. Cops work around the clock keeping you safe. I think he’s earned the right to a proper send off, and not to have to come in when it’s convenient for the rest of us to get that send off.

  4. joe & miriam- lighten up. the police were celebrating the career of a distinguished and caring man who helped keep our town safe. maybe you could have explained that to your children and turned it into a learning lesson instead of jumping on your computer to complain on a website.

  5. How about all the nights his kid stayed up worried about him getting home while he served and protected the community? How about the nights his family lost sleep waiting for him to get home safe. Can’t you just bid good wishes and be grateful and thankful to these men and women who protect & serve you.

GOD Bless them all & thier familes…best wishes and good luck!

  6. Steve, Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for a job well done. May God bless you in all of your future endeavors.

To all the whiners who were complaining about the *noise*…your kids were sleeping soundly and safely because of Steve Vigna and the other men and women of LPD. If they woke up…oh well…that’s what going back to sleep is all about! Instead of whining like a child, you should be thankful that someone like Steve dedicated the better part of his life to keeping you, your kids and the city of Lakewood safe.

  7. #12 & #15
no one stated that they were not thankful
    they were only saying
don’t do it late at night when children got woken up [ takes 2 hours for my baby to go back to sleep & its not fun ]
it can been done during the day as it usually is
    ty

  8. Way to go # 20. You said it all. Thanks. And Thank you Steve. One brother to another. You were the best. Always remember and don’t ever forget to keep David in your vocabulary.

  9. hey #21!!!…stop your whining. they did it at this time because sgt. vigna works the 2-12 shift and thats when his officers are there. boo hoo, your kid was woken up for a little bit. why dont you stop your whining and just say thank you.

  10. to #21 nowhere along with thier complaints did they state an ounce of thanks or gratitude.
how do you think that makes these officers feel?

  11. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO SELFISH AND SELF CENTERED???
don’t you understand what these police officers do for our community? so they once had sirens at night to show appreciation to a hard deserved officer. and all you can do is complain about how Ur poor child got woken up! think about your complaint and remember that if you ever needed them in the middle of the night the sounds would all of a sudden not bother you anymore! i’m embarrassed to even read these comments from such selfish people in our community.
