LPD Lieutenant Louis Sasso Retires After 25 Years Of Service

PHOTOS & VIDEO: Lakewood Police Lieutenant Louis Sasso was greeted by family, dozens of colleagues and other officials, as he walked out of the Police Headquarters this afternoon for the last time as a police officer. Lt. Sasso retired today after 25 years of service.

“I don’t know where all the time went”, Lt. Sasso said in his farewell speec. “because here I stand on the doorstep of my retirement – and it just seems like yesterday that I walked into this place.”

“I’d like to thank the Police Department and the Township of Lakewood for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream career”, Sasso added.

Lieutenant Sasso was one of the four Lakewood officers shot during a shootout while conducting a no-knock warrant back in September of 2009. He returned to work a short time later and was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant.
