LPD: Change in plans regarding Sunset Road construction hours

Due to an unexpected change of plans, Ferreira Construction has decided to alter the hours of operation on the overnight construction being conducted on Sunset Road, Traffic Safety Officer Alex Guzman said.

The contractor will resume the Sunset Road construction on Tuesday, during the hours of 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

“We would like to thank our residents for being patient during this much needed construction project,” Guzman said. “We would also like to thank Ferreira Construction and their workers for being sensitive to the needs of the residents during the duration of this project.”

  1. For anyone living nearby nighttime became a total disaster. The noise and shaking is unimaginable, noise machine doesn’t get close to drowning it out. They were definitely looking at a lawsuit if it continued

  2. Night was much better so most of Lakwood wont be stuck in trafic!
For those that are complaining about the noise I had the same thing when they were working on route 9.
That is what happens on main road.

  3. I don”t know exactly what they are doing, but I do know that they are working slow like molasses. The crew is very small. If they would have more manpower I assume they would get the job done a lot quicker. It would be probably even be cheaper on the long run. (I wonder if their work permit allots them all this time?!)

  4. Sunset is not a main road I don’t live on it and we r affected by the noise Route 9 is a main also a state road Countyline is also a state road don’t compare route 9 to Sunset. The noise is not bareable the ground shakes no one including children were getting sick from no sleep. Plus only a section of Sunset will be closed you can still get to Central. So if you worry about traffic that this town has anyway leave yourself ample time

  5. We also have to get home deal with it it will partially be open go to Powderhorn through to James or go to liberty out to Sunset. All Around Lakewood there is traffic and they are doing work on lots of roads but we have to deal with it. Construction is done in NY during the day also and people manage it’s not forever and it’s not going to be so bad otherwise take a different route home. Maybe they should stop the building already it’s only going to get worse. What do u think is going to happen when they are finished building on James st? Do you think traffic will be better? Or your going to get home faster?

  6. I live on Sunset. Yes, it’s a main road with a lot of daily traffic even without construction. construction only make things worse. I heard from a reliable source that before yom tov there was a disagreement between the township and the company hired to do the work that’s why NOTHING has been done in so long!!! “your tax dollars at work”(sic)!!!!
