Loud Missionary Preachers Moved Off Clifton Avenue

missionaries quieted by police tls[Phone Video] A group of Missionaries were asked by police to quiet down and move their loud preaching off downtown’s Clifton Avenue. The group of several Missionaries were reportedly using loudspeakers on Clifton Avenue and 4th Street to get their message across to Lakewood residents, when multiple officers arrived.

The group were asked to quiet down and move their preaching about ‘J’ to Red Square, should they wish to continue ‘educating’ Lakewood residents.

In July of last year, a similar incident occurred on Clifton Avenue and Second Street. TLS-00/TLS-CCP/TLS-16/TLS-89.

  1. its free speech . i dont see the problem. would you like us to call the cops on those people who go around with loudspeakers blaring about who to vote for or about some chinese auction?

  2. There’s a difference between freedom of speech and disturbing the peace.
Just like there’s a difference between free speech and yelling “fire ” in a crowded theater. Freedom has its limits.

  3. to jose. i don’t care about freedom of speech and religion when it come to this issue. people who are using loudspeakers in the middle of town talking about religion and trying to teach other pple about their beliefs is disturbing to the public. freedom of speech only applies to certain topics.
thank goodness the cops came when they did to talk to these guys. i hate it when these pple do this. it’s so disrespectful.

  4. ther law needs to be applied on an eqaul footing to all, just because you may not agree with someone elses message you have no right in this counrty to stop it

  5. Alright,I’m gonna had over to Belmar to preach judaism and the laws of modesty at the beach. Something tells me I’ll be shown on my way too. Stop with freedom of speech baloney. There’s a difference between that and disturbing the peace which is illegal. It may be difficult for one to decide what constitutes disturbance of the peace. Law enforcement officials know the difference and enforced the law on Friday.
    Good day to all.

  7. #5 ….Freedom has its limits? Did you listen to yourself before you actually wrote that comment down? Learn the amendments to the constitution, before you make a clearly one sided remark. Next time, after thinking about it, you might second guess a response, which no one needs to read in the first place.
