Jerry J. Dasti, a longtime local legal expert and attorney for several townships – including Lakewood and Jackson – has passed away.

On behalf of Jackson Township Mayor Jennifer L. Kuhn and the Jackson Township Council, we offer condolences to our community, who is mourning the passing of Jerry J. Dasti, a devoted public servant, legal expert, and steadfast friend to Jackson Township and Ocean County for decades. Mr. Dasti’s firm serves as the municipal council for Jackson Township.
Born in Summit, New Jersey, Mr. Dasti dedicated his life to serving the people of Ocean County, where he built an extraordinary career in law and local government. His extensive experience included representing numerous governmental entities across Ocean, Monmouth, Atlantic, Mercer, and Burlington Counties. He held the honorable distinction of being admitted to practice before the New Jersey Supreme Court and was recognized as a Diplomat in Municipal Law.
Mr. Dasti’s practice spanned municipal law, land use, real estate, civil litigation, and corporate law. Beyond his professional excellence, he gave generously of his time, serving on nonprofit, educational, and political boards throughout the community he loved.
Jackson Township Council President Mordy Burnstein expressed heartfelt condolences to the Dasti family, noting that “The Dasti family has been an integral part of Jackson Township’s municipal government and community life for decades. Jerry’s wisdom, service, and friendship will be deeply missed.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dasti family and all who were fortunate to know and work alongside Jerry. His legacy of integrity, service, and dedication will continue to guide Jackson Township for years to come.
